Vocalist Gaynel Hodge (USA) was in de 50er jaren een van de oprichters van de wereldbekende vocalgoups The Platters, die met hits als Only You, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes , The Great Pretender en, Earth Angel, de wereld aan hun voeten kreeg. Gaynel schreef Earth Angel dat al snel een hit werd; deze song werd door vele beroemde Amerikaanse vocalisten uitgebracht, zoals o.a. Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Paul Anka, Richie Valens, The Temptations. Behalve bij The Platters, zong Gaynel ook bij o.a. The Inkspots, The Turks en The Penguins.

Tegenwoordig woont Gaynel Hodge in Nederland en is hij vocaal nog steeds zeer actief. Hij treedt behalve in ons land, ook veel op tijdens buitelandse festivals. Met zijn jazz- en bluesrepertoire is hij een veel geziene gast bij vele bands. Gaynel maakt ook deel uit van de groep Jazz Support (druk op de desbetreffende button op deze website).
